RIDERS TESTIMONIALS

I participated o the most challenging tour of Portugal Nature Trails, Madrid Lisboa by mtb, a 1t5 days challenge through Spain and Portugal.

If you really want to know Spain and Portugal and are ready to face this demanding challenge, then I recommend everyone to do this, it is an unforgetable experience, fantastic, demanding, sportive, interesting, challenging, historic, active, technical and yet also relaxing.

The trip is well organised, hotels, lunch, dinners and support are great and the team is experienced and sympatic.

I enjoyed each day and think already of coming back next year.

You have to be ready and prepared for this trip, but your reward is unforgetable!

If you are able to, have the time, don`t hesitate, do it, you won`t regret it!

Last month we cycled the Madrid Lisbon mountain bike route as a self guided tour taking our own gear from hotel to hotel. The days were long and sometimes hard but the rewards were plenty...

Great scenery and interesting routes through varied landscapes - and on every surface. This tour is highly recommended to mountain bike enthusiasts that enjoy a challenge. It is not something for your average cycle tourer. The route requires off road experience and a good level of fitness. Also, when dealing with a straight 600m climb after breakfast, think of it as 'therapy' rather than 'pain'!

We can suggest taking good bikes, good equipment and carrying just the real essentials. The 'what to bring' list provided was very helpful. Also, booking a couple of extra days on stages 5 and 10 wouldn't take anything away from the challenge and would allow you to get your breath back and explore Barco D'avila and Manteigas - it was a shame to have to rush through these places.

Being a couple of ex-backpackers we did not think too much about the accommodation when booking the tour. However, after a long day in the saddle, we came to appreciate the luxury. All the accommodation and food was good and some of it was well beyond our expectations. Booking the food with the trip is recommended as there isn't a great deal on offer in most of the small towns. Take lunch with you as will be lucky to find places to eat during the day - especially on the Spanish stages.

We think that it will be difficult to find another mountain biking adventure as good as this one. Madrid-Lisbon is probably the el Clásico of Iberian biking.

This was an amazing tour through the back country of Spain and Portugal. The rout was well thought and and extensively researched to provide us with the total mountain bike experience. I went with 2 of my friends and our guide Antonio it could not have been better planned our meals and hotels were excellent and the attention to detail was impressive. This is a trip of a lifetime.

I had the chance and privilege to participate in the very first Madrid Lisbon edition. My intent was the preparation for Brazil Ride and I found out a thrilling adventure. The routes are very unique and all stages where designed and tested by Antonio Gavinho, for me is one of the persons that knows better Iberia. I recommend this adventure to everyone no matter your physical level as long as you have the will to endure. In loneliness or in group, the “path” it’s always ours to discover. After this first edition, some friends of mine did it for the same purpose, as a preparation for other multistage events. Whatever the purpose, the spirit is to commune with nature, to "retreat" from the hectic life and dedication to ourselves. In this or other edition, think about it… Iberia is beautiful. Cheers

A Península Ibérica é fantástica! Saudades..."

Recomendo vivamente.
